This is my chance to say a big thank you to all the Friends of High Heaton Library who helped to make such a success of FUN DAY.
Amongst the people and organisations who should be thanked are :-
Those individuals on the committee who made such a big effort to ensure that the day went ahead in spite of all the difficulties were faced.
You should know that some members used their own financial arrangements to pay for the insurance and for the large quantities of materials that were consumed. They paid up front and I am happy to say that they have been reimbursed. It was a rapidly changing situation in the days running up to the 21st and Wendy Hawthorn. the lady concerned, never wavered in the face of the difficulties and the uncertainty.She was the rock upon which we were able to build. When I add that she also personally carried library tables both to and from the library when other helpers forgot you will realise how much we owe to her commitment.
